Inclusive Education and Policy Frameworks

Inclusion is an educational approach and philosophy that provides all students with academic membership and greater opportunities for academic and social achievement. Inclusion is about making sure that each and every student feels welcome and that their unique needs and learning styles are attended to and valued in educational institutions. The new anti-discriminatory climate in inclusive education has provided the basis for much change in policy and statute, nationally and internationally. Articulations of the new developments in ways of thinking, in policy and in law include several conventions, recommendations and declarations that are presented in this book.
