In the Garden

In the Garden is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.8 and Literacy.L.K.1. A day in the garden is spent exploring the concept of plant and food growth, and the factors that are needed for growth to occur. Vibrant color photographs of seeds, roots, sprouting leaves, and stems are paired with explanatory text. A diagram is in the back of the book that depicts all the parts of plants. This book should be paired with "Plant Parts" (9781448887255) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
