The first section of the book of presents drawings created in the 1980s at the Cornelia Street Cafe in New York City, Greenwich Village. It chronicles a period of time coupled with the musings of an artist about the passage of time and change. The second half of the book discusses the evolution of the drawings, how they were created, and the materials used.
