Ages 6 to 9 years James Small and Neville Heavy are bored. Nothing ever happens in Rigour Mourtice, the small town where they live. But that changes when a strange new teacher, Mr Grindell, arrives at their school, and James stays with an eccentric old lady, Mrs Winters.  The boys embark on an exciting and hilarious adventure, and their lives will never be the same again...
