Hints to Speakers and Players

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. As the rehearsals progressed, however, I realised that in all the essentials of art there is but one Truth, which we all worship and acknowledge, only very few of us have the power to express it as you do. I hope I have made this Truth clear in print; but whereas all I say of it is about as useful to my students as a pair of black silk mittens, you have the commanding quality of demonstrating it to the mind of your company through the medium of your wonderful rehearsals.
