"Hey, Teach!"

I taught and counseled students from age five to age seventeen, in seven different schools. I launched my career in Bremerton, Washington, where I taught junior high school English and social studies for three years. In my third year, I applied to the United States Armed forces, and secured a two-year teaching position in an Army junior high school, in Frankfurt, Germany. Next, I spent a year in my old high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I first taught high school students, before moving back to the Northwest, to spend the rest of my career in Seattle as a high school teacher, counselor, and Kindergarten teacher. In "Hey, Teach ", I highlight many of my experiences, sometimes chaotic, often humorous, and occasionally sad, but mostly satisfying and successful for my students and for me. Whatever I may have done to shape the future of my students, they did much more for me, and I am grateful to them all for my wonderful career.
