Hamilton Field Diary

One Crowed Hour of glorious life, is worth an age without a name. A few days with the
first F-104 Fighter Squadron (83 FIS) at Hamilton Air Force Base in California, I sensed the
tremendous excitement and beauty and compelling force that makes men want to fly these
planes. This I felt, was interwoven with an aloneness that was complete in itself.
