This book deals with the subject of environmental guidelines in more primitive and generalistic terms, indicating its universal applicability as umbrella frameworks. The focus starts from the protection of human environment in the form of Stockholm Conference, mainly to provide a solid base for future development and orientation. It also underlines the fact that the Rio Summit focussed attention on the environment, spawning a host of other conventions collectively called Rio Agreements. The Johannesburg Summit on Sustainable Development and the economic and social dimensions of Agenda 21 on general issues is also included.
