Green Walls and Brown Doors

Families in most cases have the emotional tools to help their children through milestones of growth. Others do not have the emotional tools. With each milestone I had to face, I faced alone. When I transitioned from childhood to adolescence, I was deficient in many ways. and was never validated. I entered the State Hospital with the Green Walls and Brown doors. They were everywhere you went. From age 12 to 17 I stared at those walls and the secrets they held. From the Hospital, my care transferred into the hands of relatives. They sent me to a cult down south. They did horrible things to me in the name of Jesus. I escaped from there and soon my life began to turn for the better. I realized I had hope.
