Grass Path

Only a handful of his 1,000 published poems have previously been translated into English. This volume includes 203 poems, both in the original Japanese characters and in English translation. The three illustrations are the work of Shiko Munakata, an outstanding contemporary painter, whose wood cuts are well known far beyond the borders of his country. He has one-man shows in Honolulu, New York, and Washington, and has exhibited in Paris, Sao Paulo, and Lugano.
