5.0 out of 5 stars A great holiday read
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. Great for anyone planning to visit Australia as it captures place and language very well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Regional Australian surf culture collides with big city crime in this exciting thriller
This page turning debut novel left me desperate for the next thrilling instalment. The great characters and fast paced plot are set amongst a fictional coastal town that Australian readers will recognise and yearn for. PG Robertson's love and knowledge of the environment and of surfing are evident with some of the best descriptions of coastal landscapes and surf scenes you will ever read. Highly recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
Very intriguing. One of those books you cannot put down until finished. Can't wait for the sequel
5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping from Beginning to End
Tombstoning is the best kind of crime novel...grabs you early on, loads of nasty characters who seem okay initially...couldn't put it down
4.0 out of 5 stars A new author has nailed his first book - great plot - the love of ocean and surfing shines through.
A friend referred this book to me - a new author's first book .. I was a bit sceptical at first but it turned out to be a great read. The plot was intriguing with unexpected twists and turns. The lead character Ange was likeable & you wanted to urge her on to solve the mystery. Some unlikeable characters added balance - with a little romance thrown in.
Author Peter seems knowledgable on the book plot(s) and his obvious love of the ocean & surfing shines through.
There were some jumps in the story line that seem to come from nowhere and some of the characters lacked a little depth .... but overall I will look forward to reading the next edition of the Saltwater Crimes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and captivating, a great holiday read
I really enjoyed this book. Ange is a great character and I love her quirky nature. I also enjoyed the description of the coastline and the ocean scenes. It's definitely the closest I will ever get to experiencing a tube ride, and the author's portrayal almost made me consider taking up surfing The ending leaves lots of mystery for the next book.
