Gingival diseases are a family of distinct pathological entities that involve the gingival tissues. These signs and symptoms of these diseases are so prevalent in populations around the world that they are often considered to be "normal" features. The diseases are now classified into two main groups namely: Plaque-Induced and Non-Plaque Induced Gingival Diseases.
