Getting Better

Meet Jake, a rising 4th grader, who moved to a new neighborhood this summer. Jake loves video games, bike riding, and his weirdo cat named Mr. Meatball. Jake doesn't love school. He has dyslexia and he doesn't like being forced to see a reading specialist. But things are different at the new school and Jake's perspective changes when he discovers that his older cousin, who he most admires, also has dyslexia. Jake learns that challenges get better with practice and persistence.

The words in the book are shaped and spaced to help dyslexic readers. The book also contains an information and resource section for caregivers who want to help kids who suffer from dyslexia.
