From Steamboats to Subchasers

The Shelburne Shipyard has been an important part of Lake Champlain and American maritime history from shortly after the War of 1812, through the steamboat era, WWII, and the Korean War. The building of wooden subchasers during WWII is one of the great untold chapters of that legacy, now preserved in in this memoir and history of the Shelburne Shipyard.
