From Desperation to Destiny

Diamonds come in all shapes and sizes, and the worth of each diamond varies. The diamond is put aside (rejected) and mined (cultivated). Then, it is cut (the hurt, the pain, the disappointment, the death, the molestation, the diagnosis, the divorce, the rape, the kidnapping, etc.) Then, the diamond is polished (passing test after test) and it is finally graded (totally surrendering and complete obedience) to be delivered to the world with great clarity and purpose.I was that diamond in the rough. But there was only one problem, no one ever noticed me for who I truly was. I was a hard worker and had great work ethic. I was honest and had good character. I was genuine, beautiful inside and out, and full of potential. I weathered any storm that came my way, no matter the gust of the winds. I was resilient, assertive, self-motivated, eager to learn, and ready to give my children the world. I never fit in. I truly stood out in the crowd.One day, I discovered myself. I saw my potential. I recognized my value. I understood my worth and started to create my future. I realized that people only do to you what you allow them to.
