Flower Power

The journey begins in the late 1400s, about two decades before Christopher Columbus set sail to the Americas. A group of Portuguese soldiers commanded by Captain Horacio received a commission from the king to sail west in search of gold and silver deposits. They set sail in the summer, and after being at sea for nearly four months, a small island is spotted far in the distance. Everyone is tired and joyful to finally see terra firma, as it represents an opportunity to rest and resupply.
