Cet ouvrage, coordonne par Sophie Jollin-Bertocchi et Serge Linares, interroge pour la premiere fois la pratique frequente du changement de style chez les ecrivains francais depuis la fin du XIXe siecle. Restituant le phenomene a son historicite, il ne vise pas a contester la notion de style d'auteur , mais a en relativiser le caractere essentialiste, croisant la demarche stylisticienne avec d'autres approches (sociologie, poetique...). Il dessine le contexte historique et editorial, evoque ensuite des parcours de polygraphes, apprehende la problematique sous l'angle generique (poesie, roman), met en evidence les enjeux biographiques, questionne enfin les possibilites d'une permanence derriere la disparite des manieres d'ecrire. A l'epoque moderne, avoir du style ne se limite pas a en avoir un seul. This collection coordinated by Sophie Jollin-Bertocchi and Serge Linares addresses the common practice of the change of style among French authors since the end of the nineteenth century. The intention is not to challenge the notion of an author's style but the relativization of its essentialist nature, from different approaches (sociology, poetics...) and through a variety of examples. This study outlines the historical and editorial context, brings up some surveys from the point of view of genre (poetry, novel), and underlines the biographical issues. This book also raises the question of some possibilities of a standard behind the array of different styles. In the contemporary period, evidencing Style does not imply being limited to one style only.
