Paul M. Valliant obtained his Ph.D. in 1978. Initially he was employed as a professor, and in 1980 was hired to work in a psychiatric hospital with patients who had forensic and criminal issues. This position allowed him to venture into the minds of those with underlying psychological conditions. Over the past 45 years he has used his knowledge to write articles, fiction, and non-fiction books.
