Excellence in University Leadership and Management

For quite some time it has been obvious that the university system requires a thorough re-evaluation. There is a considerable amount of dissatisfaction, not only among students, but also among faculty and other interested individuals and society at large. This has already been addressed through two volumes of a work. Excellence in University Leadership and Management Case Histories describes initiatives in 16 different universities designed to improve their effectiveness and efficiency in facing new challenges. A total of 10 of these universities are in European countries including United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Finland and Bulgaria and 6 of them are in the Americas including USA, Canada and Brazil. These case histories address a wide range of subjects including teaching and learning to the development of new universities. Specific topics addressed in the book include methods of program delivery, developing entrepreneurial competencies, facilitating research cultures, prioritising administrative responsibilities, collaborating with business and government, domestic and international students, education as an investment.
