Fiction, Book I begins with a position statement prepared by Attorney Jennifer Paris. The position statement, in response to Bernard Ashton's 2010 complaint of discrimination, was discussed in a back room led by Chairman Kevin Butcher and overheard by Custodian Wrhet Sparks in the Cape Fear Courthouse.
