Environmental Productivity of Energy Sources

This book shows that the environmental productivity of energy sources, from a global perspective, can help the planet in a virtuous transition of the global energy matrix from its current composition, with a preponderance of conventional fossil energy sources, to renewable energy systems, provided that policymakers can align energy policies with minimum environmental productivity requirements. The author argues that it is important to help decision-makers and energy users understand the general sense of "ecological footprints" and the planet's limits in regenerating ecosystems. In order to reduce pressure on the atmosphere and the biosphere, this book also discusses that it is essential that public energy prices reflect the real costs incurred.
