Enid Blyton (1897–1968) is renowned as one of the most popular and successful authors of all time, having written well over 700 books during her career. Among her most successful works are the Adventure books, the Noddy series for young children, The Famous Five and The Secret Seven, which focused on the adventures of a group of crime-solving children. The Secret Seven made their first appearance in a series of seven short stories beginning in the late 1940s, before going on to appear in fifteen full length novels, starting with 1949’s The Secret Seven and concluding with Fun for the Secret Seven in 1963.
