Nina transformed her life from a war-torn stream of tragedy to a glimmering example of The American Dream. After surviving the her harrowing childhood ripped to shreds by the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, she and her younger brother Hari found solace in the United States of America. A well-educated, successful, and driven woman in her thirties, Nina felt that the entire world was within her grasp. And then, yet again, tragedy struck once more. With only minimal help from law enforcement, Nina must put the pieces of this senseless catastrophe together herself; unveiling all at once a shocking, shady underworld that she never knew lurked just below the surface of her awareness.
