In this book Professor Dobbs provides an elegant and clear account of the subject, covering all the material needed by the student taking such a course. Though the emphasis is on essentials, interesting applications are discussed. Vector operators are introduced at the appropriate points and exercises (with answers) are included for the student. This book should be of interest to first year undergraduate students taking courses in physics.
