El Chaguite (Jalapa)

A report on excavations taking place at the site of El Chagueite in eastern Guatemala. The authors describe the results of their excavations, the major structures, and the lithic and ceramics assemblages and the human remains. Since this site is far better preserved than many of the other sites identified as part of this project, it provides a good picture of the organisation and development of a small ceremonial centre in the key period of transition between the Pre-Classic and Classical periods.
