El Aura Solitaria

The need to care for the world's flora and fauna has been growing exponentially, and, as each day goes by, we fail to see the dangers that directly affect humans. We seem to not be aware of the thousands of animals, birds, and plants in danger of extinction. As human beings, we are not doing enough for our benefit. Animals, birds, and plants are suffering to the point that there are now thousands of extinct species with many more currently in danger. We consider our relationship with nature as insignificant and continue to ignore everyday signs and warnings. This story, The Lonely Buzzard, originally written in Spanish in the early 1900's narrates the delicate line between life and death and how nature can help us survive if we pay attention to its offerings, but also to its needs. The earth's natural functions contribute to the benefit of all human beings, but we refuse to acknowledge it.

La importancia de la flora y fauna en todas partes del mundo incrementa paulatinamente ya que, por cada d a que pasa, vemos el peligro de extinci n de miles de animals, p jaros y plantas que destruimos con la justificaci n de que debemos entrar en la "Modernidad". Este tipo de modernidad implica la destrucci n de elementos naturales que en vez de da arnos, nos han beneficiado a trav s de la historia. Aparentemente, no queremos darnos cuenta de los peligros que esto implica para la humanidad, y para encontrar soluciones para tratar enfermedades y plagas que nos amenazan constantemente. El cuento El Aura Solitaria, originalmente escrito y publicado en espa ol en la primera parte del siglo XX expresa de una manera art stica y con mucha emoci n c mo la destrucci n y el odio hacia la naturaleza nos perjudica, y no queremos darnos cuenta.
