Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Liber, attributed to this author, is of a later date, this may be due to the fact that we have only an abridgment of the original work, made doubt less at a late period. C. Julius Hyginus was a friend of Ovid's, was librarian of the Palatine Library and, according to Suetonius, was learned in Alexandrian literature.
