Sarah Benson and Tamara Hudgenson couldn't be from more seemingly different worlds when the sophomore girls are partnered up to do a project together in a racially divided school in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their perspectives echo back and forth and they begin to realize that even though they live completely different lives and struggle is struggle, the color of your skin doesn't change what hardships you get dealt.As Sarah navigates a big decision it causes a tornado of destruction in her path ultimately resulting in devastation and tragedy in her and her friends lives, including Tamara's. No one is left unharmed and their lives forever altered.
