Volume two of Tristan Bastide's typology of African bladed weapons focuses on short knives, cutlasses, chopping-knives, machetes and sabres. The examples on which the study is based were mainly collected in the colonial era and are from Northern, Eastern and Western Africa, and the Congo region of Central Africa.
