Dropout from education

Child rearing has been a topic of interest to philosophers and political thinkers since ancient times. Plato considered education one of the most important pillars of a virtuous state; the latter cannot exist without good citizens, and good citizens can only be created through a sound educational system. Hence, his call for the state to assume full responsibility for supervising education and not leave it in the hands of individuals or private bodies. The importance of education in its ability to prepare individuals for citizenship, future life, and the ability to think independently, as these are the most fundamental pillars of progress, cannot be denied. The phenomenon of school dropouts is considered one of the most serious issues facing Arab and developing countries, as the phenomenon is worsening at an alarming rate, necessitating concerted efforts to try to contain the phenomenon.
