Down-Hollow Winds

for wind quintet Down-Hollow Winds is not so much concerned with instrumental style as with harmonic and rhythmic style and in particular the pentatonic mode, common to folk music the world over. It is divided into five movements: Pesante, Vivace, Lontano, Energico and Piacevole, each of which explores different and sharply-characterised aspects of the same, simple material.
