Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The very gratifying reception accorded to the first edition of this work has prompted me to make the second edition still more acceptable to the profession.<br><br>I have rewritten a great deal of the subject matter and the other subjects have been much enlarged. In addition many new sections and interpolations have been added.<br><br>Much attention has been paid to the causes and treatment of female diseases from the bony lesion standpoint. Surgical gynecology has been purposely left out.<br><br>The most of the illustrations are original, while the proper credit is given for those copied.
