Dr. Marson Thornberry is a curmudgeonly retired physician who plans a vacation on a luxury ship to try to shake off his self-pity and move on with his life. As he embarks on the cruise themed with a nostalgic look at the pop music of the fifties and sixties, he meets a host of fellow travelers and manages to bond with a diverse group of people who share his enthusiasm for early rock-and-roll. But unbeknownst to them all, a murderous Islamic militant plots a deadly bioterrorist attack against the ship's passengers and crew. Using a disease many believed to be extinct, the terrorist's ultimate goal is to see the contagion spread to the mainland-and infect millions more once the liner returns to port.
