Darkest Before Dawn

'Darkest Before Dawn' is a young adult work of fiction. It follows the story of three people who have all been the victims of a traumatic experience and know how it feels to lose some they love. When James and Maya meet through their therapist a deadly friendship starts. James seeks Maya's help to look after an abandoned six year old girl he has found on the streets, and Maya agrees, unaware that her need for a friend will lead her into danger and much more. As James' past overpowers the real him, and Maya is haunted by her previous horrors their therapist, Jack, starts to learn the truth about a part of his life he thought was in the past. Darkest Before Dawn is a touching yet chilling novella about how being the victims of crime can later turn you into the perpetrator.
