Karnataka Panchayat Elections 1995 : Process, Issues and Membership Profile critically examines the important issues that influenced the voting pattern in the 1993 and 1995 panchayat elections in Karnataka and the level of popular participation in the Gram, Taluk and Zilla panchayats. Another major theme of this book is the new leadership emerging in the panchayats since 1987, when the state saw the dawn of a new era of local governance.
