Diary of a Mad Old Man describes an old man who is not only impotent, but also has the original desire and strength of life. The old man took a fancy to his daughter-in-law's beautiful feet and regarded them as Buddha's feet, worshipping them greatly. Daughter-in-law is a laissez-faire woman, who has a strong desire to conquer men and even does not hesitate to abuse him. She took an accepting attitude when the old man caressed her feet. In caressing, the old man recalled his childhood love for his mother and caressed her mothers feet, superimposing her mother and daughter-in-law together and creating a mysterious feeling. Finally, the old man wanted to carve his daughter-in-law's Buddha-like foot on his tombstone in order to obtain eternal joy and beauty after death.
