Criminal Litigation

Criminal Litigation begins by introducing the criminal justice system and professional conduct for criminal litigators. It then discusses a number of key areas of Criminal Law, including homicide, non-fatal offences against the person, sexual offences and property offences as well as the defences of insanity and automatism.

In addition, the course book covers key areas of criminal litigation, including representing the client at the police station, evidence, and representing clients in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts. Particular issues involving representing children and young people are covered, together with the crucial areas of disclosure, proceeds of crime, sentencing and appeals.
