The novel "Crime and Punishment" is considered Dostoyevsky''s first great novel, and one of the most famous international Russian novels that has gained very wide fame. The novel is divided into six parts in addition to a conclusion. The novel focuses on the psychological dimension and the struggle between good and evil and how they relate to crime. It also depicts what goes on in The criminal''s own thoughts and ideas when he commits his crime.The events of the novel depict the moral dilemma of Rodion Raskolnikov, a poor former student in St. Petersburg. He draws up a plan to kill an unscrupulous moneylender for her money. Before killing her, he believes that with her money he can free himself from poverty and do many good deeds. However, confusion, hesitation, and luck thwart his plan to kill... The hero sees it as morally justified.
