This book recounts the journey one man took to understand why his hometown had failed, as had hundreds of other cities in that area of our country known as the rustbelt. From that understanding also came the knowledge of what needed to be done to bring it back to life. Lyons details the challenges he faced as mayor of his hometown and the strategies he employed to overcome those challenges. That process created a vibrant and welcoming modern city that has thrived while other rustbelt cities have continued to decline.
