Covenantal Relationship between the Lord God and His People

The practice of celebrating an arrival of new year originated with the Hebrews, when Moses (c.a.1571-1471 B. C.) told them that the Lord God wanted them to observe the day as the day of solemon rest, a holy convocation and to celebrate with blowing and blast of trumpet. (Lev. 23: 23-24). It was to be celebrated in the month Tishri on the first day of it; it was the day of Hebrews' new year. The celebration was to emiund them they have to be reminded of the steadfast love of God for them and for their forefathers. Now all nations welcomes a new year with music, dance, and entertainment.
