Confessions of a Heretic

This book is the second of a planned three-volulme systematic theology under thetitle, Confessions of a Heretic. Volume One, which has the subtitle, PhilosophicalConsiderations, was published by Archway in 2024. The project now turnsto Theological Considerations, with the forthcoming Volume Three beingEcclesiological Consideration. Organized into three Parts, Volume Two focuseson the theological endeavor, and the doctrines distinctive to Christianity,namely, the Trinity, Jesus Christ, sin, and salvation. Based on the foundationaldistinctions and defintions explicated in Volume One, the current volumeseeks to ask what the philosophcial considerations imply for basic traditionalunderstandings and terminology of Christian theology, including that of Jesusof Nazareth, his crucifixion and resurrection. The project as a whole adopts atrinitarian structure, with this second volume focused on God the Son , or, ashere termed, God the Perfector. The argument is that Christian Theology needsto shift from an anthropocentric to a theocentric approach, recognzing humanbeings simply as creatures, and having the courage to face what that entails. Yetdoing so necessitates a radical reconceptualization of the very foundations ofChristian Theology itself, in the attempt to combat idolatry.
