"Composiciones bajo tierra" aborda aspectos clave de la abstracción prehispánica tal como resuenan en diferentes momentos del arte moderno y contemporáneo. De esta manera, los textiles andinos, los atuendos propios de las ceremonias selk''nam, y las líneas de Nasca son abordados a la luz de la enseñanza y obra del artista alemán Josef Albers, la abstracción geométrica de comienzos del siglo XX, y el Land Art norteamericano, respectivamente. La mirada detrás de estos textos no es la del teórico o historiador del arte, sino la del artista visual, por lo que las interpretacionesque encontramos son más arriesgadas, pero también abiertamente tentativas, tal como debieraser todo ensayo en tanto tal."Compositions Under the Soil" addresses key aspects in pre-Hispanic abstraction and how they resonate through different periods of Modern and Contemporary Art. Therefore the Andean textiles, the ceremonial Selk''nam attires, and the Nasca Lines are approached in the light of the work and teachings of German artist Josef Albers, the early 20th century Geometric Abstraction, and the North American Land Art correspondingly. The gaze behind these texts is not one of an art theorist or historian, but the one of a visual artist, therefore the interpretations are riskier and openly tentative, as every essay as such be.
