Colonial Constitutions

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The territories, for instance, of the East India, and Hudson's Bay Companies, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands, though they may not fall Within any of the ordinary definitions of Colonies are yet manifestly Dependencies, by the omission of which any enumeration of the subject Provinces of Great Britain would be rendered incomplete. The same may be said of the Ionian Islands, (the protectorate of which involves the discharge of legislative and executive functions,) and of British Honduras, what e'ver may be the eventual interpretation of the treaty signed at Washington in 1850.
