Colloidal Gas Aphrons

161,40 €

Surfactant-layered microbubbles, or colloidal gas aphrons (CGAs), can serve as a cost-effective alternative to surfactant solutions. CGA-based flotation is an effective and versatile separation technique capable of recovering diverse materials. In this book, the properties and flow characteristics of CGAs prepared from natural surfactants are explained in relation to wastewater remediation. In the petroleum industry, CGAs have been successfully used as drilling fluids for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Also, CGA technology has great potential for bioproduct recovery, which could create a new level of innovation. Date fruits, for example, are abundant in many parts of the world, making CGAs ideal for extracting natural sweeteners. The scale-up technique using CGAs, including technology readiness level (TRL), is elaborated. In the current scenario, modeling using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) provides valuable information about the CGA flotation process. Thus, the book is best for engineers and technologists who wish to apply CGAs in the real world, and for researchers investigating separation technology using flotation. It is also very relevant for graduate students studying environmental sciences/engineering, chemical engineering, food technology, petroleum engineering, and nanotechnology.
