Once I walked down the road

Of sadness and sorrow

But when I did

The Lord was there with me,

And He promised a bright new tomorrow

There were times I thought

That my heart would break,

But with my Lord beside me

He healed the hurt and ache.

Now I know whatever may come

He is here for me

About the Author

L. Lorraine Goodrich Gifford was born in a small town in Ohio, the youngest of four girls. Her mother passed away when she was three years old. She began writing poetry when she was twelve. Lorraine married at the age of seventeen and was widowed at age forty-nine. She remarried in 2001, and her wonderful husband has always been supportive. She is also thankful for her daughters and granddaughters for being a crucial part of publishing this book.
