The City was a monster...Set against the backdrop of an unnamed city whose inhabitants fight to survive the casual violence and malignant deprivation it seemingly thrives upon.  Finding love and hope where they can in defiance of its ever-present oppressionPotential salvation arrives in the unlikely form of three outsiders.  Transients in search of well-hidden energies only a rare few of citizens possess.  They arrive with a life changing offer for a select few, if they can pass a bizarre and darkly magical selection process.  If they are chosen, and survive, then they could finally be free of the city and its gradual corruption of the human spirit
