Children of the Doomed Voyage

In September 1940, with invasion expected at any time, the British government evacuated 90 of the most vulnerable children to Canada on the SS City of Benares. 77 of these children died when the ship was torpedoed by a German U-boat. Here, the survivors tell their harrowing stories.
