Ceilings and Their Decoration

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The ceiling is so important an expanse in every room, be it big or little, that we cannot afford to ignore it from the aesthetic point of view. Unadorned or badly treated it becomes painfully obtrusive. Our ancestors understood this well, and hap pily we are once more recognising the ceiling's importance in the scheme of house decoration.
