Capitalizing on the experience of development projects/programs

Burkina Faso implements development projects and programs with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. However, interventions remain an "eternal restart" because, apart from formal evaluations, little or no action is taken to capitalize on experience, resulting in a lack of knowledge on the issues involved. As a result, projects and programs learn little or nothing from their predecessors. Our research has shown that the root causes of the lack of experience capitalization are the non-existence of regulatory provisions in this area, and the lack of appropriate capitalization tools. This book highlights a case study of the success factors, failures, lessons learned and untapped potential of ecosystem-based adaptation. All of which has generated valuable knowledge on climate change adaptation.
