Can a computer loan have an influence on students' performance?

The university of Rwanda started a program called Positivo, in which they intended to enhance students' performances by providing them with laptops. The objective of this paper was to assess the impact of such loan program. A study was conducted with students who benefitted from this program. In the study 88 participants from different departments were chosen. Self-administered questionnaires were used to obtain primary data to be used in the analysis. The students were asked questions related to their computer use, as well as about the marks they obtained before and after the introduction of the computer loan program. The paired sample t-test and descriptive statistics were implemented to study the difference between the two points in time, in order to discuss the general impact of the introduction of the Positivo laptop computer loan on the learning environment.
